Central Park United Neighbors hopes you're enjoying getting out and about in Central Park this summer. We're taking July off of our regular meeting cadence for committee planning but look forward to being back with our regularly scheduled Community Meeting on Tuesday, August 16th at 6:30 PM. We'll be joined by Denver Police Department for an in-depth look at crime statistics in the neighborhood. RSVP here

  • CPUN Sustainability Committee Meeting
    • Join us on Tuesday August 9 at 6:30pm hear from Dr. James Crooks, who will present on the issue of air quality issues and the impact on our health and public health in general. RSVP here.
    • Dr. Crooks is a Central Park resident and an assistant professor at National Jewish Health and a clinical assistant professor at the Colorado School of Public Health.  He holds a Ph.D. in physics and a M.S. in statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Prior to joining the faculty at National Jewish Health he worked for seven years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development.  His current research focuses on the health impacts of air pollution, climate-influenced extreme weather events, and environmentally-influenced infectious diseases.

    • A letter was sent to committee members and interested neighbors regarding next steps for 2022. After our August meeting, we will meet on the first Tuesday at 3:00pm in October and December. 
  • CPUN Education Committee

    • Agenda includes:
      • Support for our neighborhood public schools
      • Creating a forum regarding school safety
      • Sharing information from a recent visit to a Safe Outdoor Spaces (SOS) site to learn more about one means for housing the unsheltered
      • Seeking to have committee members make informed suggestions with our DPS board member(s) and the superintendent.
    • Three DPS board members will be hosting a Town Hall at the Central Park Rec Center Saturday July 30, 2022 at 2pm.
  • Park Creek Metropolitan District Board Meeting
